The PWS Chamber Ensemble Committee was created in December of 2018, with the purpose of providing the musicians of PWS an opportunity to perform chamber works, provide the Greater Philadelphia regional area with quality chamber ensemble repertoire, and provide PWS more outreach opportunities with schools, churches, local businesses, and etc.. The PWS Chamber Ensembles are composed of members from the larger Philadelphia Wind Symphony. These more intimate ensembles showcase the individual talents of the PWS musicians. The PWS Chamber Ensembles looks forward to sharing our art of performance through quality wind chamber music.

Mission

The mission of the PWS Chamber Ensembles is:

  1. To provide the Greater Philadelphia regional area with quality chamber ensemble repertoire.
  2. To perform concerts as outreach and community service to nursing homes, schools, VFW, etc.

  3. To provide opportunities for PWS members to play and perform chamber wind repertoire.

  4. To allow for remote concerts to promote the Philadelphia Wind Symphony.

The PWS Chamber Ensembles are composed of members from the larger Philadelphia Wind Symphony.  These more intimate ensembles showcase the individual talents of the PWS musicians. This program within the larger organization was created by Assistant Conductor Michael Pettis and Principal Flutist Jennifer Flam in December of 2018.  In addition to giving the musicians of PWS an opportunity to perform the chamber works of the wind literature, this program exists to present these works to the local community. The PWS Chamber Ensembles look forward to sharing quality wind chamber music not only in concert, but with schools, churches, local businesses, and perhaps your organization!
