GENERAL INFORMATION

The Philadelphia Wind Symphony is an all-volunteer ensemble comprising musicians who are active performers and professionals in many different fields. The ensemble performs four to six concerts each season and rehearse three or four times in a two-week period to prepare for each performance (no set/standard days of the week).

While consistent attendance is critical to sustain our high quality of performance, we remain flexible around our core members' personal schedules and engage substitute musicians as needed throughout the season. Beyond current openings for permanent personnel, we also encourage any interested woodwind, brass and percussion instrumentalists to audition for our substitute pool.
